The indoor dog fence is very similar to the outdoor version of the product. Of course it wireless and portable. Simply plug the transmitter into a wall and set the zone. Some models have multiple zones that can be set. Great for keeping your dog from stealing a snack from your dining table, or from getting into the waste basket. My little Bichon loves to knock over the garbage and sift through it.
How the indoor system works
An indoor wireless system will use single or multiple transmitters. All the installation instructions come along with the package for your convenience and you just need to follow them. First of all, you will need to plug the transmitter in at a convenient location in your home. It will give off a radio signal, which has the ability to penetrate through all the household obstacles including walls.
These radio signals will create a boundary around your dogs “no fun zone” and you have the ability to control its perimeter. Then you will need to place the collar on your dog. When your dog approaches the pre-defined boundary, the collar will generate a beep sound. If your dog walks across the boundary, a mild static electric shock will be generated. This electric shock will continue until your dog comes back into the defined area. This method is extremely effective.
You can plug in the system when you’re temporarily away from your pet, or when you’re having dinner. It’s best not to leave the collar on your dog for prolonged periods of time. The manufacturer suggests 12 hours tops.
This is a very good indoor wireless system. You can find less expensive ones if you look for them, but this is built with your pet’s safety in mind. Features that protect your pet like:
- Automatic safety shutoff to protect against unnecessary exposure
- 5 different levels of correction with a warning tone
- Omni directional signal make’s certain there are no areas where your pet can get through
- Low battery indicator
This system is for any dog over 5 pounds. This is PetSafe’s most versatile collar with 5 levels of correction and an early warning tone to alert your dog that he is approaching the boundary. The lowest level is fine for your small dog and the higher levels will stop a very large or stubborn dog.
